
JG5 lost 5 Messerschmitts in this area on this date. One at Klokksegga in Urkedal. The second one at Breifonndal on the other side of Hjørundfjord.
Another ditched in the Hjørundfjord, south-east of Urke. WNr. 782249 "Schwarz" 12. The pilot parachuted and was rescued. The pilot was probably Lt. Werner Heinicke.
The last one ditched in the Sulafjord. The pilot survived.
They were attacked by a group of 12 Mustangs, 21 Beaufighters, 12 Mosquitos and outriders, looking for German ships in Norangfjord. None allied A/C were lost in this fight against the Fw 190's and Me 109's that took off from Fliegerhorst Gossen.
